TSN and Powerade are teaming up to showcase 24 of Canada's future stars today.

This week, the spotlight is on hockey forward Karly Heffernan.

The 17-year-old from St. Albert, Alberta plays for Calgary's Edge School of the Junior Women's Hockey League.

She earned a spot on Canada's national U-18 women's squad and scored the winning goal in overtime to win the Women's World U-18 Championship over the United States in January. She scored two goals and two assists in five games at the tournament.

Heffernan has her sights firmly set on eventually making the Women's Senior National Team with a shot at playing in the Olympic Games.
