 The JWHL opens in Duluth MN, hosted by the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and the editors chose UMD freshman Hannah Bramm for the cover shot. The New England-based magazine focused more on the South Division teams. As mentioned in the magazine, the League offers girls in many areas, north and south of the border the opportunity to showcase their talents and receive exposure to both US based NCAA hockey colleges and universities as well as the north of the border CIS schools where the JWHL has many alum.
