The JWHL will kick off their season at the University of Minnesota-Duluth over the October 5-7 weeekend. Games will take place at several arenas including the DECC, Amsoil and Heritage. 

 The league expanded for the 2012-13 season, adding Okanagan Hockey Academy and the Notre Dame Hounds. Also reconfigured were the Divisions, renaming them North and South. Joining Okanagan and Notre Dame in the North are the Pacific Steelers, Warner Hockey School, the Edge School and Balmoral Hall School. The South consists of Washington Pride, Boston Shamrocks, National Sports Academy, Colorado Select, Minnesota Thoroughbreds and North American Hockey Academy.
