In a Halloween matinee matchup the Varsity Prep Blazers took on the defending JWHL Champions and came away with a 6 - 2 win to go 2 - 0 - 2 over the first JWHL West weekend. The win extends their unbeaten streak to 8 games and moves them up to third place in the JWHL Western conference. In the anticipated matchup, the Blazers took up the lead just five minutes in before adding to it two minutes later. The Warriors would answer, but was then countered on a timely Blazers power play goal with under five minutes remaining in the first period. In the second the Warriors would pull within one, however, the Blazers would reclaim their two goal lead at the halfway mark of the second period and not look back, finding the back of the net twice more in the third period to finish with a final score of 6 - 2.

Up next for the Varsity Prep team is an off weekend, before hitting the road to head West again Nov 12 - 14 when they take up their Western rivalries in Warner, Alberta.
