The Blazers squad opened up their regular season in Duluth, MN. The team showed their grit as they battled hard to finish 2-2-0 on the weekend.

The BH Prep Hockey squad opened up their regular season down in Duluth Minnesota over the past Thanksgiving weekend. All 12 teams were present and ready to do battle in the first North/South league weekend.

The Blazers opened the weekend against top-ranked North American Hockey Academy from Stowe Vermont. The team came out very strong and held a 3 to 1 lead but the Winterhawk's from Vermont had a little bit too much firepower and ended up closing out the game 6 to 3. Haley Studler Ryleigh Houston and Allison Sexton all scored goals for the Blazers. The team was able to get together and enjoy the collegiate home opener for Minnesota Duluth that evening. The game featured 8 alumni from the JWHL from both Minnesota Duluth and Ohio State and one BH alumni Katie Wilson playing for Minnesota Duluth.

Saturday afternoons match up featured the Blazers versus the Washington Pride, a team that gave the Blaze all kinds of trouble last year. This game would be different though as the Blazers showed that they have some firepower of their own and took it to the Pride 6 -1. The Blazers would suffer a tough loss in the evening matchup against Boston Shamrocks  going down 2 to 1 despite leading one to nothing in the late stages of the game. Allison Sexton recorded the loan goal for the Blazers and Jessica Campbell was excellent in net. BH Would finish the weekend strongly though with a very convincing 5-2 win over the Colorado select. Aislinn Kooistra lead the way with three goals and an assist.

The Blazers will now have the upcoming weekend off before heading to Vancouver for North division play the following weekend.
