The Blazers prep team recorded one of their most impressive victories in program history on Sept 22 at the Mandy Schwartz Challenge in Regina.

The Blazers prep team recorded one of their most impressive victories in program history September 22 at the Mandy Schwartz Challenge in Regina. The game was fast and very physical and great scoring chances were traded at both ends. Team Sask went ahead 3-1early in the third.

The Blaze got a key goal from captain Haley Studler on the power play in the middle of the third to close the gap to 3-2. Rylie Wills was extremely sharp in the Balmoral Hall net and fended off 6 Team Sask power plays in the third period.

With only 30 seconds left in the game and the Blazers net empty, Allison Sexton scored a beautiful goal over the shoulder of the team Sask goaltender and forced the game into overtime. The Blazers were fired up and came out extremely strong in overtime. With only two minutes and 40 seconds played into overtime Aislinn Koostra finished off a goalmouth scramble to give BH the 4-3 victory.

The team has now completed their  preseason schedule and will practice six times before heading into the regular season JWHL play in two weeks in Duluth, Minnesota. As part of the league schedule the Blazers will play their first home game on Thursday, October 4 at 8:30 AM versus the Notre Dame Hounds at MTS Iceplex.
