History of the BC Cascade Cup

The Cascade Cup was founded in 2012 by Coach Jeff of the Pacific Steelers and Jim Fetter of the Okanagan Hockey Academy with intentions to create a long-time tradition among JWHL teams in British Columbia.

The name comes from the Cascade Mountain region that separates Vancouver with the Okanagan Valley.  The Cascade Cup event consists of a four game series split between 2 weekends; 1 weekend at each of the teams hometown arena.

The Cup is awarded to the team in which wins the best of the 4 games, the winner receives bragging rights within the Province of British Columbia, between the two teams as well as the annual Cascade Cup Banner.

Congratulations to the Pacific Steelers for taking home the Cascade Cup for the remainder of 2016! Hats off to both teams for a great series and strong tradition.
